Dr. Benedek Pillér
Attorney-at-Law
I obtained my law degree from Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary and began my professional career as a legal officer with the Hungarian Riot Police. In this role, I gained extensive professional experience in employment law, the law of damages and personality rights.
In 2018, I continued my legal career in the Market Supervision Department of the Central Bank of Hungary (MNB), where I gained practical experience in the supervision of institutions carrying out licensed financial activities and in the investigation of market abuse. From 2021, after a short period in the capital markets sector, I worked as a supervisor in the MNB's department supervising investment fund managers, which gave me comprehensive insight into the MNB's ongoing supervisory and investigative activities.
From January 2023, I again led regulatory proceedings related to market abuse and issuer supervision, first as a supervisor and then as a senior supervisor. In parallel with these duties, I was a delegated member of the working group of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) dealing with market abuse and the Short Selling Regulation.
Since mid-2025, I have been involved as an adviser in the operations of several capital market participants.
